When a local Chicago picture frame company asked Unipaq to design a single package to accommodate several sizes of frames, the challenge was formidable. Not only did the frames come in different lengths and widths, they also had different thicknesses.
So the design team at Unipaq came up with the idea of "floating" the frame within the pack. Die cut, multi-scored flaps hold the frame in place in the center of a corrugated pad with turned-edge corners. By suspending the frame in the package, it is prevented from being damaged should the shipping box get hit along the sides or corners. The multiple scores on these flaps are what makes this pack able to fit several frame sizes. The appropriate scores will automatically bend around the specific frame it is wrapping. Once folded over the frame, the flaps can be taped or tied to hold the frame in place.
